What Is Hypnotic Copywriting?

I'm often asked by clients what is hypnotic writing? Hypnotic writing, like plain old copywriting, will focus on the benefits of a particular product, highlighting what it can do for the prospect. You can see examples of hypnotic writing every time you browse the internet. It's a technique used to help persuade consumers to purchase by using certain phrases and words within a given text. By repeating these words and phrases the reader is eventually seduced and convinced that buying a certain product is the right decision.
The sort of words you should look out for include: Imagine, relax, peaceful, unwind and sample for example. Such words are used to help soften the reader and lull them into a passive state of mind. Storytelling is also a powerful tool used by copywriters to help persuade prospects to purchase. The story will typically involve someone who buys a product and finds it to be the ideal solution to a problem. Storytelling works because it quickly takes the pressure off the reader. It makes the reader feel they are not being sold too. They are simply following another person's experience. By doing this the reader becomes passive and less resistant. The reader begins to feel that the copywriter is on their side. The copywriter not only understands their needs, he is also offering them a solution that has worked for others.
A good copywriter puts himself into the minds of their readers. He'll know before he puts pen to paper what sort of objections his product is most likely to encounter before the prospect. By understanding these objections the hypnotic writer can then overcome them from the beginning by agreeing with the thinking behind such objections. In doing so he again gets the prospect on his side. This is important. It means he's already managed to build a little rapport. He's then able to outweigh such objections with the benefits of what his product offers.
The hypnotic copywriter will use strong call to actions too throughout his text. He'll also repeat key phrases at certain points to illicit an emotional response from the reader. He'll repeat his sales pitch again and again as the reader continues their journey, gently breaking down their resistance to buying. A good copywriter will utilize all these writing techniques on behalf of a client. Experience will have taught him that such techniques work. Hypnotic writing is a powerful tool.
