5 Writing Tips to Keep Readers Interested in Your Website

We've all seen it.
Writers that make a habit of beating around the bush, it's as if they think beating around the bush is the same as adding suspense.
Here are "5 simple tips to keep your readers interested in your website."
Tip #1
Get to-the-point; this is especially critical if your material is going to be posted online; noting is more annoying than reading through three paragraphs to find some information that could be delivered in one line.
Edit ruthlessly all non essential material just has to go. Your readers won't respond favorably if they think that you've just wasted their time.
You don't want leave your readers guessing; let your readers know immediately how they'll benefit from reading your material and they'll settle down and warm up to you.
Tip #2
Ask your readers questions. Yes... ask questions. It works, it gives your reads a sense of conversation; after about 30 minutes or so the average lecture starts to get boring; but friends could stand and talk for hours.
So, what have you got on your mind now?
No one likes being left out, we all like to be a part of the discussion even if it is only imaginary; if you treat me like a friend who knows I might just become one.
Tip #3
Talk directly to your reader. What's the most popular word in the English language? No it's not "free."
It's "You;" yes the word "you" is the most popular word in the English language. I dare you to count the number of times you see that word in written material. Some may even think its usage has gotten somewhat redundant; but trust me it's very effective.
Just the mere use of the word "you" is an effective way to talk directly to your audience; it brings them into the conversation. You get the point... right?
Tip #4
Paint vivid pictures; use imagery and details - - they tell better stories; there's no need to be afraid you don't have to glance over the details.
Paint a picture of the beautiful white sandy beaches and the way the wind blows through the trees; the sound the waves make as they gently caress the shore line, how the sand tickles your feet as you walk on it, down to the electric chill that rushes up your spine as you step back and take it all in.
Tell us all about the details, please share them with us, we want to experience it too.
Tip #5
Add a personal touch; share your personality it's OK to let us into your life. What's your story? How are you connected to everything? It sells you as an authority and is part of the reason we will believe you. Don't hold back it's the only way we have to test if it's all real.
Here goes, take me for example; I never thought of myself as a writer, and to some extent I still don't but I approached writing with an open mind and just packaged my own unique stories and put them out there.
Was I afraid when I just started... yes! My desire for success was my motivation to keep going and now my fear has disappeared and I have found a new comfort zone.
Yes it pays to put some of yourself into the story because people want to know who you are. Don't fear your personality it's the best tool you have to attract people.
